This is the shallow ravine where RJ and Mack were found on May 27, 2004. After 3 days of searching (with no help at all from Sheriff's Dept.) RJ's uncle spotted them in this ravine.
Sadly, our son was beaten to death and shot, and placed face-down in this ditch.
The Sheriff's Dept. didn't bother to tell us that our son was beaten, we found this out 2 months later.
The investigation was botched, so was the autopsy. There was not mention whatsoever of lividity in the autopsy report. The autopsy reports of the two victims, RJ and Mack had 2 different death dates on them. When we called the Medical Examiner's office to inquire about the death dates, the Medical examiner himself, slightly chuckled and told us that it was a typographical error.
The autopsy report of RJ stated that every bone in his skull was broken, both upper and lower jaw bones were broken, but the teeth were in good repair. (It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that if someone is beaten enough to break all bones in skull and upper and lower jaw bones that the teeth would have some damage to them. After obtaining copies of the case files (some 3 1/2 years later) I came across the post mortem dental exam, took it to my dentist and he verified that RJ had eight teeth knocked completely out!!!! Why wasn't this mentioned in the autopsy report?????
The boy that "confessed" to this crime, was helping us search on the 2nd day and wanted to use our cell phone before he left the search party to go home. We let him use to phone. @ months after the murder, we looked on the bill to find the call that he had made.....it was the home phone # of the Leiutenant of this Sheriff's Dept. When we questioned the DA and the Sheriff's office about it, they would only get mad and not want to answer us, and try to make up every kind of lie that they thought we were stupid enough to believe.
There is far more to this case than meets the eye. The investigation was botched and neglected, the autopsy was botched. Many things in this case were "botched".

Our son is dead because of Mack Creamer and Jarren Allen. These 2 wanna-be thugs have always been nothing but trouble. They were having sex with the "confessed" murderer's girlfriend and he & his accomplice wanted revenge on Mack & Jarren. RJ had no involvement with the girlfriend at all....she is low class white trash just like Jarren (half white) and Mack have always been.
Mack's mother NEVER searched for her son while he was missing the 3 days...but she was riding around with Jarren Allen all the while.
She lied on her statement as well as to her whereabouts while her son and our RJ was missing.
Her son, Mack and Jarren Allen were 2 little juvenile delequents always in trouble and Jarren had her son Mack selling crack cocaine for him in Columbus Georgia.
They both never had a car, so they were always begging for ride from RJ and several other kids in the neighborhood. This particular time when RJ gave them a ride, he wound up dead.
RJ's friends can verify of the times they have given Mack and Jarren rides and had to leave them, because they wound up in the ghetto where Jarren and Mack dealt drugs. So they have left Mack and Jarren on many occasions because they were'nt sticking around in the ghetto, but Jarren always said it was his relative's house.....yeah right.
Mack's mom wants to act like she is so sweet and innocent. Well, why didn't she look for her missing son the 3 days we were in the woods searching????
Why was she fired from Lee County Board of Education (as a substitute teacher)????
Why was she fired from her next job at Gayfers because she was shoplifting there and escorted out of Gayfers with the goods on her person that she was attempting to steal???

The best things that ever happened in my life were my 2 children. God blessed me with 2 wonderful children. RJ was such a sweet child with a very big heart of gold and the most beautiful blue eyes. His heart of gold grew with him. He was such a compassionate young man, who cared so much for others, and gave so freely of himself to others. RJ was the glue that held this family together. RJ was the one that filled our home and hearts with laughter, with his crazy and warm sense of humor, he was always laughing, and if you were around him for a moment, he would make sure that you were laughing too.
RJ was unique, he wasn’t an average boy. He had wisdom that was so far beyond his years. He seemed to know so much for such a young mind, he held an amazing knowledge that never failed to surprise his daddy and I, as well as his friends and his teachers. He went from 7th grade straight to 9th grade. He continued to amaze his teachers with his knowledge all through school. RJ wizzed through geometry and trigonometry so fast, and had no problem at all with calculus, to the point that he had to help the teachers sometimes.
RJ’s true passion was music. He played acoustic and electric guitar, piano, keyboard and drums. He was a self taught musician, he could play by ear, and also he could read music, if he heard it, he could play it. RJ’s heart and soul was in his music. He composed, mastered and produced music from his studio on our home. It was his dream to be a record producer from the time he was about 12 years old. He loved to play any kind of music, but he always said he enjoyed playing classical music the most, because it was the only music that was a challenge to play. I miss him coming into the kitchen while I was cooking and saying “Mama, listen to my new riff on the guitar” as he would sit on the barstool with his acoustic and start strumming away, his playing was so beautiful that I would stop in my tracks just to listen to it. I miss him sitting at the piano in the living room saying “Mama, listen to me play Fur Elise” and the beautiful sounds of his music was so soothing to my soul.
RJ was raised in Church and he loved God with all his heart and soul. RJ was very intrigued by the Bible, the creation of earth, and the afterlife and eternity of the soul. He often talked with me about all these things. He was always reading the Bible and researching all the mysteries of life, death, and the afterlife. He did a timeline of the Bible when he was 17, not very long before he was so brutally murdered. RJ was a very spiritual person. I will never forget how he told me…”Mama, If God showed us the mysteries that lie beyond the veil, while we are in our physical bodies, we would not have the mental capacity to understand and it would most likely scare us, but when our soul leaves our physical body it is then and only then that we can fully understand, and that is when God will lift the veil, so we can see clearly.” Those words came out of RJ’s mouth at 17 years of age.
RJ would never hurt anyone, he loved to help people. He was a peacemaker, he wanted everyone to get along. But he wasn’t afraid of anyone. He didn’t start trouble, but he didn’t take it either. RJ was never in trouble in his life, he’s never been in trouble with the law in any way at all, not even a traffic ticket. RJ was a good person with morals and values. He appreciated life, and he respected life. He loved animals and never mistreated an animal a day in his life, he respected all forms of life, because we are all God’s creatures. RJ had a quote that he said many times…..”I would rather die like a man than to live like a punk.” He did die like a man !!!
You robbed my son of his life, and all his hopes and dreams. You robbed me of my son, you robbed my husband of his son and you robbed Jake of his big brother that he always looked up to, and followed in his footsteps. RJ and his brother never fought, they have always been very close.
Our family will never be whole again.
We no longer celebrate Christmas because it hurts too much. I can no longer look at my son and tell him “Happy Birthday”, I have to go to a grave on his birthday. On Mother’s day all I can do is cry, because my first born child is no longer with me. I miss RJ with all my heart and soul. I miss everything about him, his blue eyes, his beautiful smile, his great big dimples when he smiled, his beautiful voice, his crazy sense of humor, that contagious laughter that was music to my ears and always echoed in our home. The most beautiful sound to a mother is the laughter of her children. I miss everything about RJ, but what I miss the most is the big old bear hugs he gave me and hearing him say “I love you Mama”. I have always been close to both my boys, I hug them many many times everyday and always tell them how much I love them.
RJ would not hurt anyone, and if you knew him, you could never have done that to him.
Not only did you kill my son, you brutally killed him, but you are a coward because you shot him in the back of the head, you executed my son. RJ would have beat your ass all over those woods because a coward he WAS NOT.
Not only did you cowardly kill my son, you left him in ditch to rot. My son had no eyes, no nose, no ears, every bone in his skull was fractured as well as both jaw bones were broken..
I know for a fact that my son would not touch that scavenger girlfriend of yours with a 10 foot pole. Look at her!!! My son don’t want that, he would probably run away from her, LOOK AT HER!!! RJ Davis would not EVER touch her!! He wouldn’t be mean to her, but he sure didn’t want HER! Just like he wouldn’t ride with you in that jeep down to Briar Creek and leave his truck parked at that scavenger trailer park.
What you did was totally uncalled for. You are a worthless piece of garbage. Not only did you kill my son, you assisted in the search for him and continued to lie in my face, even after I asked you not once, but twice….“Did you hurt my son?”
Don’t ever think for one moment that I did you a favor by agreeing to "life without", that’s what I wanted for you in the beginning, because life without is more punishment then the death penalty. Why should you get the death penalty and know the exact hour and the way that you will die?. My son didn’t get that choice and neither should you. Why should you have a choice, RJ didn’t. If he did he would not have chose to have his brains beaten out, and left in a ditch to rot. At least this way you don’t know the hour or the way in which you will die.
But the coward that you are , you will most likely commit suicide while incarcerated. Because you are not man enough to take what is coming to you. God sees all and knows all. Genesis 9:6 says “Whoever sheds mans blood, by man shall his blood be shed.” Your blood will be shed by man. I firmly believe what goes around comes around, and you will be paid back tenfold for what you did to my son. You showed no mercy to my child and the inmates in the prison will show none to you. You didn’t care about my son, the inmates don’t care about you. You’ve been getting your beatings at the jail, but the jail is a picnic compared to where you are going now. You are stepping off the porch from the puppies and you are going to pen with the big dogs now. And they have nothing to lose. You are nothing to them except a fresh piece of meat. Prison is HELL on earth.
I hope you live to 150 years old in prison, I hope you are tortured every day. You think you are bad and tough, well now you are going to meet people who ARE bad and tough.
You show no remorse for what you did to my son, you even brag about it in the jail.
You think your little teardrop tattoos will intimidate someone, NOT HARDLY!! You better hope the Crypts and the Bloods don’t carve that little tattoo off your cheek for you when you get to the big house, they might be a little pissed off because you have it on the wrong side.
What are you hiding? And who are you so scared of? You can’t even make up your mind why you killed my son. First it was an accident, then it was robbery, then it was jealousy. YOU can’t seem to make up your mind which story you wish to go with. WHY did you go have a “discussion” with the Gee boys at the boat ramp at Briar Creek the DAY before my son was murdered? You said it on your video taped confession. And the phone call that you made from my husbands cell phone while “assisting in our search” was one of your biggest mistakes. Why DID you call the home phone # of Lt. Steve Osteen the night before my son was found dead??? Didn’t you know, all cell phones show the calls on the bills?? Just why would you have to call the LT.’s home??? No one else can seem to find an answer to that question so maybe you can tell me. And maybe you can tell me what you and Jarren and the Gee boys REALLY did with my son’s cell phone, and which one of you were using that phone the next day, since nobody seems to want to investigate these things because the “state of Alabama is low on funds”. You have lied, Jarren Allen lied, your little Gee boys lied. What or who are you scared of????? Jarren Allen, Gee boys, who Paul who are you so afraid of? You couldn’t even get your story straight during your confession. And now you can’t seem to make up your mind why you killed my son.
Paul Wilson….I HOPE YOU ARE LOVED TO DEATH BY MANY MEN IN PRISON.

Jury finds man guilty in
murders

He faces life in prison for killing two teenagers

Jurors had little doubt as to the guilt of Paul Hunter Wilson.
A Russell County Circuit Court jury took about 22 minutes to find the Phenix City man guilty of three counts of capital murder on Tuesday. The 22-year-old, who pleaded guilty on Monday to the May 2004 slayings of R.J. Davis, 18, and Kenneth C., 17, shortened the conventional trial that could have lasted two weeks, turning it into a two-day event after his attorneys brokered a deal with the district attorney.
Wilson pleaded guilty Monday to shooting the teenagers at Briar Creek Park out of jealousy and repeatedly beating them with a rifle until they died. He faced the possibility of the death penalty if convicted of the two capital murder counts for the slayings, with the third count triggered because the crime involved the murder of two or more people.
By pleading under the agreement, the option of death by lethal injection was taken off the table.
Even though he pleaded guilty, the trial had to continue under Alabama state law.
"I'm just glad that he was found guilty for the crimes," said Monica Davis, R.J. Davis' mother. "I'm just upset that someone could savagely murder people over jealousy. Nothing they do to him is ever going to bring my son back."
Russell County District Attorney Ken Davis told the jury during closing arguments that a jury must hear the evidence in a capital case and decide a defendant's guilt before the plea is valid. If Wilson hadn't pleaded guilty, Davis said he would have called 50 witnesses to the stand -- a process taking more than a week.
Instead, the prosecution and defense agreed to many of the facts, and testimony that would have taken days was summarized in minutes by Davis.
Wilson owed C. money, and he told the victims if they came with him, he could get the money. Wilson was the last person seen with the teenagers, Davis said.
The district attorney added that sometime after the murders, Wilson emerged from the woods of Briar Creek Park without a shirt and spotted with blood. He pulled aside Julian Gee so no one else could hear. "The defendant told him, 'I shot and killed two people, and I did the best I could to hide it,' " Ken Davis said.
The day after the murders, Wilson approached his girlfriend -- the source of his jealousy. "He said, 'They're gone. They're not coming back,' " the district attorney said.
"I think it's the best that we could have hoped for in these circumstances," said attorney Rick Chancey, who represents Wilson. "There was a lot of evidence before Paul, and he wanted to admit to it."
Russell County Circuit Court Judge George Greene scheduled Wilson's sentencing for Feb. 28. His maximum sentence is life without parole.
"I'm glad it's over with," Monica Davis said. "We've waited so long for this. We can start to properly grieve for our son."

According to investigators, in a taped confession,

Surprise Guilty Plea In
Double Murder Trial

"A double murder suspect shocks a Russell County courtroom, admitting he killed two teens out of jealousy. The last minute plea deal was reached Monday morning in a 2004 murder case to keep Paul Wilson off Alabama's death row.
Wilson gave gruesome details about how he carried out the murders of two young men. "He said that he shot them both in the head and the gunshot did not kill them. So he took his rifle and started beating them until they died," said Monica Davis, Victim's Mother.
Wilson was about to stand trial for killing RJ Davis and Mack C. at Briar Creek Park in Russell County back in May 2004. As the jury process was underway, he admitted to the judge he killed the two teenagers because of jealousy. "He has given a statement to the judge that he is willing to enter a plea of guilty to this charge in exchange for sentence of life without parole," said Rick Chancey, Wilson's Attorney.
Though the plea won't bring Monica Davis's son back to life, she at least knows why he was killed. "It hurt but I mean RJ is never coming back. One thing is we at least know we now have a reason. We know he done it over jealousy," said Davis.
Some of the questions family members have been seeking since May 2004.
Mack C.'s mother told News Leader Nine she still wants to hear answers about what happen to her son. Since this is a capital case, jurors will still hear all the evidence before Wilson can be formally sentenced.
His attorney says a final outcome can come down as early as Tuesday morning. |

Guilty Verdict Reached

It only took a Russell County jury 25 minutes to decide the fate of Paul Wilson who was accused of murdering two teenagers in 2004.
The jury found Wilson guilty of killing 18-year-old R.J. Davis and
17-year-old Mack C.
Tuesday morning, the prosecution called four witnesses to testify about the two murders Paul Wilson in which Wilson is now convicted.
The District Attorney showed the jury members a gruesome videotae of the victims' bodies that were discovered in Briar Creek Park in Russell County in May 2004. The video showed the bodies of C. and Davis after being shot and beaten to death.
Wilson admitted that he killed both teenagers out of jealousy because they had a close relationship with his girlfriend.
Wilson will be sentenced on February 28th for the murders. At that date the judge will formally sentence him to life in prinson without parole.

A Phenix City man who admits killing two teenagers was convicted by a Russell County jury Tuesday afternoon. The jury found Paul Wilson guilty of murdering Mack C. and RJ Davis.
You may remember Wilson admitted his guilt Monday during jury selection. Despite a guilty plea, because this is a capital murder case, state law says jurors must agree there's enough evidence to support that plea.
It didn't take long, only 25 minutes of deliberations around lunchtime. Family members of both young men say today is a step forward to move on with their lives. "I'm glad it's over. I just want my family and I to move forward with our lives," said Monica Davis, Victim's Mother.
Getting back to normal will take some time, but they believe justice was served. "I'm glad he was found guilty and now they can put him away where he belongs," said Davis.
Defense lawyers say Wilson's admittance of his guilt in the courtroom Monday came after several discussions. "There was a lot of evidence against Paul. He wanted to admit it and accept his punishment," said Rick Chancey, Wilson's Attorney.
Something the district attorney wanted to hear. "I think the verdict speaks the truth. That is what verdicts are suppose to do. This individual was guilty of two crimes. He brutally murdered two young men from our community," said Ken Davis, District Attorney.
Wilson admitted to the judge he shot both Davis and C. in the back of the head back in May 2004. Then he took the butt of his 22-caliber rifle and beat the two young men till they died. "Our family will never be whole again. All we want is RJ back and we can't have that," said Davis.
Wilson will be sentenced on February 28th. He now faces life in prison without the possibility of parole.

1): The mother of the boy(17 year old Mack) that was murdered with our son
NEVER searched for her son.
There is absolutely NOTHING that could
ever keep me from searching for my child. There is no excuse that is even
remotely acceptable for NOT searching for
your missing child. You put your life on hold,
and you don't worry about going to work, or
GOING HOME & GOING TO BED, or
DOCTOR's ORDERS or any of the other
excuses I have heard from this other
mother.....YOU DROP

She has made up every excuse in the book as to why she did not. She has even told everyone that the Sheriff's dept. kept calling her, telling her not to go down to where we, our family & friends were searching. THAT IS A LIE. They never told her that. We have already spoken with the authorities and they NEVER told her that.
However, she did ride out to where we were searching in the woods around 12 midnight the night before we found them. With her was the boy (Jarren) that had RJ's truck hidden in his yard while RJ was missing and some little skinny crackhead girl named "Brandy" with her. I still don't know why they rode out there (although, I do have my ideas) and only stayed for 10 minutes and NEVER offered to help. When she was asked if she was going to help us search for the boys her reply was....."I can't, my neck and my back hurts and I have to go home and go to bed so I can go to work in the morning".
She seemed to be more concerned with her job than she did with her missing son....I found that very difficult to grasp, since my whole world was put on hold until I found my child. I didn't give a damn about my job or anything else for that matter, I only wanted to find my child and I was not stopping until I did just that. There is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING that could have stopped me from searching for my son. I would have walked through hell on Sunday. I could have been on my death bed, and I would have made someone throw me and the bed on the back of the truck...what ever it took, I did not care about anything but finding my child.
RJ WAS NEVER IN TROUBLE A DAY IN HIS LIFE (that pisses her off when I say that because there was a juvenile pick up order on her son while he was missing). I have no reason to lie, I am not trying to make RJ look like an angel, but I can tell you that he was never in trouble and always home by curfew EVERY NIGHT!!!! He loved to be home with his family and he loved to be home to work on his music.

These 2 children, Mack & RJ, were missing & lie dead in a ditch in the woods
in Briar Creek State Park leased from the Corps of Engineers (US Army) for 3 days.
RJ's parents and family did a continuous ground search for 3 days for which I will be
endlessly grateful. I was physically unable to assist in the physical ground search for
our missing children, because of complications from a motor vehicle accident and I
was under doctors' orders NOT to go. However, this does not mean that I love my
child any less or more than RJ's family loves him and that I was not making the
necessary phone calls to find our children (... I COULD NOT SEARCH AND STAYED AT HOME
PER DOCTORS' ORDERS, AFTER MY APPOINTMENTS...)
I had no one to immediately call upon on my behalf to take my place in the search;
my family members could not for various reasons as they had families and jobs.
The 3 times (Tues, Weds, & Thurs) I did attempt to go to Cottonton, AL,
to assist in the search, (the last time I WAS ENROUTE with my mother on the morning they
were found) & the Sheriff's Dept did call my cell phone and tell me not to go to Briar Creek
to come straight to the Sheriff's Dept (10:10 a.m.) During the 3 days the Sheriff's Department
DID call to ask several times where I was and TOLD me to NOT go down there for the search.
In the days to follow after Mack & RJ were found, I was told to "find my "Comfort Zone",
accept the fact that my child is not coming home, and get on with my life."
All of the Davis' families efforts and tenacity
are to be commended, admired, and praised.
For the remainder of my life, I shall be forever grateful
and thankful for their unrelenting efforts.
None of these lame excuses, would have kept me, my husband, my other son, and other family members from searching for RJ. The truth is, THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR NOT SEARCHING FOR YOUR MISSING CHILD!!!! My own sister and her husband stayed out of work to help us find RJ....and my sister at the time was not "physically able" to do a ground search, but she did anyway.
We, the "Davis family" are not looking to be commended, admired or praised for searching.....we did what any loving, caring parents would do....we kept searching until we found our child!!!!!
A): Sheriff's Dept. told her not to go help with the search. That is a lie!!!!!
B): She was not "physically able to do a ground search" (well hello!!! ride in your damn car if nothing else)
C): She had all these doctors telling her that she could not search because she was not "physically able". (... I COULD NOT SEARCH AND STAYED AT HOME PER DOCTORS' ORDERS, AFTER MY APPOINTMENTS...) Well who in the hell goes to the doctor when their child is missing??
D:) She had no one to help her with the search. Well there was plenty of our family and RJ's friends down there with us, all she had to do was come on and help and show a little bit of concern for her missing son.

MACK WAS 17 YEARS OLD...& A 17 YEAR OLD'S FRIENDS ARE NOT CHOSEN BY MOTHERS...
A):If she was in Cottonton for 3 hours like she claims, why didn't she call us and let us know??? (everyone had their cell phones). And make a little effort to search for her son.
And further more, I thought she had "DOCTORS ORDERS" not to go down there.
B): The authorities told her that she should not be talking to us????? Our children were missing together.
Ok, so far we've got....the authorities would not allow her to go down there....but she plainly states that she did, and then they told her not to talk to us.......YEAH RIGHT!!!!
C): OK, she was down there for 3 hours showing flyers and talking to people (funny, we never saw her there in those 3 hours) and she damn sure wasn't searching. We are talking about a very small place, if someone else was there, we would have known and we talked to everyone there and no one told us there was another person down there searching. And yet she is not supposed to be there (per authorities) but they are sending a deputy to meet her and show her where Briar Creek was, but yet all these people she supposedly talked to, no one could tell her where Briar Creek was, only the deputy that was on his way down there.
D):NO!!!! RJ WAS NOT BEST FRIENDS WITH JARREN LIKE HER SON MACK WAS!!! ANOTHER LIE!!!! HER SON AND JARREN WERE BEST FRIENDS. RJ KNEW THEM BUT WAS NOT GOOD FRIENDS WITH THEM. HIS BEST FRIENDS WERE JERROD AND JUSTIN NEWMAN, THOMAS EDEN, & BRANDON BOWENS, ALL OF WHICH GREW UP WITH RJ AND THEY ALL KNOW JARREN AND THEY KNEW MACK. The Brutal Murder of
My Son
R.J. was truly a blessing in our lives. He was the kind of son that most parents only dream of having. He always respected and
obeyed his parents and never got in trouble.
RJ was never in trouble in his life
RJ always called home to let us know where he was and when he would be home. When he was missing and we couldn't reach him on his cell phone, we knew immediately something terrible was wrong. This is a nightmare that no parent should have to go through and we are living it. Our concern is not what we are going through, but what our son had to go through in his final moments of life.

19 year old Paul Hunter Wilson III of 111 Cutrate Road in Phenix City, AL. has confessed to the murder of R.J. (and another boy who was best friends with the lying boy that had RJ's truck the next morning after he was missing) which consisted of beating their brains out and shooting them in their heads (execution style) and throwing them in a ditch in the woods 45 miles from their homes. We searched endlessly until we found them 3 days later.
We had no help at all from the Sheriff's Dept.
They refused to help us search, if they had, maybe the boys would have been found sooner and not had to lay there for 3 days.
We had no help at all from the other boy's mother.
She did not assist in the 3 day search. She never came to the scene when
she received the call that we had found the boys dead.
R.J. did not deserve what happened to him. But we can all rest assured that EVERYONE who was involved will pay the penalty on this Earth and in the afterlife for what they have done to my child.
My son was killed for the $11.00 that he had in his pocket...... that is what the investigators told us.
RJ would have given them the money, they didn't have to
kill him for it.
We waited 19 months for the autopsy report and finally
received it in January of 2006. It confirmed that
RJ had NO DRUGS & NO ALCOHOL IN HIS SYSTEM
This is the shallow ravine where RJ and the other boy were
found face down, beaten and shot to death.
There is NO EXCUSE for what was done to my child!!! And all guilty parties ARE GOING to pay.

Sheriff Tommy Boswell never "met with the families at the scene".
We never seen him, not one time. He never offered to speak with us.
And further more, Mack's family was not at the scene.
Only RJ's family, including grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins.
No one was there from Mack's family.
However, his grandmother did come to the scene several hours
later while we were still there.

I did not say that my son was lured down there after he agreed to go for a ride.
He would not have "went for a ride" with someone because he had his own truck.
And further more, it was not a 5 member search team.
There were several family and friends helping myself, RJ's daddy
and RJ's brother with our search. The 5 member search team was
the 5 people who were on horses that morning.
 
 
No the Russell County Sheriff's Dept. DID NOT discover the bodies of RJ & Mack.
The Russell County Sheriff's Dept. would not even come out and help us search.
They sent 2 deputies in a response unit the morning we found the boys.
But they didn't do anything. After wasting about 2 hours of our time, they finally
let us resume our search and my husband asked them if they were going to get
us some help down there and they told my husband...." We are not going in the
woods, if you bring us back some evidence then we will get some help down here".
This was AFTER we have been calling them for 2 days asking for some help.
 
We did not know RJ was missing until May 25 and we started
searching immediately for him. The only people that helped
us in our search was several family members and friends of RJ's.
We searched for RJ May 25, 26, and found RJ & Mack around
10 a.m. on the 27th, which was a Thursday.
I have been told many times, by authorities and so called "friend" that my son is dead because he was "in the wrong place at the wrong time".

Actually, it was not a five-member search team. That was the number of people on horses. We had several friends & family members helping us with the search because the Sheriff's Dept. would NOT assist us in any way. 2 Sheriff's Departments. The one in our county and the one in the county the boys were found in. Out of 2 Sheriff's Depts. and you can't get any help.......that is pathetic!!!! And "NO"....the Lee County Deputy did not attempt to locate Paul Wilson, because he was at home all day!!! And NO, I did not tell the deputies that RJ was lured after he agreed to go for a ride.
That last sentence plainly states "There is no indication Davis was involved in the drug trade at all." That's right, my son WAS NOT a drug dealer!!!! Hello???? He had NO DRUGS in his system at time of death!!!
And further more, if you ACCIDENTALLY shoot one person, does that mean you are supposed to shoot the other person too? Most people would try to get help.....not keep shooting, and then, since they're not completely dead, just beat their brains out with the rifle. And further more, if he didn't plan on killing the boys then WHY DID HE HAVE A RIFLE IN HIS TRUCK.....MAY IS NOT HUNTING SEASON.....AND WHY DID HE HAVE AN ARMY JACKET IN THE BACK OF HIS JEEP......IT WAS 95 DEGREES OUTSIDE FOR GOD'S SAKE!!!!! IN THIS MUGGY ALABAMA HEAT 95 IS SUFFOCATING, AND WHO IN THE HELL NEEDS AN ARMY JACKET????
And as far as "manhandeling" the bodies.....I don't think so!!!! Both of them were bigger than his skinny crack-head a$$, and you are talking about "DEAD" weight. P-L-E-A-S-E!!!!!!

Mr. Lieutenant ~ You can say to the D.A. and my P.I. that you don’t know the “confessed” murderer all you want and that is fine. But that does not change the fact that he called YOUR home phone # from my husband’s cell phone the evening before WE found our son dead in the woods, while he was down there HELPING us search for the boys. It has been almost 2 years since the murder and we still have not received a syllogistic explanation for this phone call. But that is ok. We no longer need a syllogistic explanation, we only deal in FACTS here anyway.
Mr. Sheriff ~ You can sit there and tell me that I can't go around saying that I think other people are involved because I am "ruining the case" and then turn around in the same breath and take up for JP when he is going around bragging about what they did to my RJ and Mack while they were killing them. You said "He is just boosting his ego". How absurd!!!! Can YOU make up your mind just how many times the boys were shot??? I don't care about your "CASE" ..... I care about who slung my child's brains all over Briar Creek!!!!
Investigator 1 ~ You can say all day long AND ON THE WITNESS STAND AT THE PRELIMINARY HEARING that your Sheriff’s Dept. wasn’t aware of 2 missing boys. We have the documentation where the responding officer called it in to your Lt. TWICE on Tuesday night before WE found them on Thursday…….you may want to check with your Lt. about that and while you’re at it, you can mention the FACT that the confessed called his home # too. It is all documented……we don’t MIND paper work or LOSE paper work and we keep meticulous records. We were told to stop piling up your paper work so we decided to pile up our own. Your Lt. WAS notified before, during, and after, but still, NOTHING was done.
Investigator 2 ~You can talk to me like I'm dirt and raise your voice to me all you want. But it still does not change the fact that you told Wayne Allen a personal conversation that you and I had at the Sheriff's Dept. in reference to the murder of MY SON. There is such a thing as confidentiality, and furthermore, why should you even be discussing it with him when his grandson is NOT even a suspect? (in your book anyway). And can you ever make up you mind how many times the boys were shot?

The investigation was closed the same day we found my dead child. When the creep confessed to murdering both of them, that was the end of the investigation!!! Even though 2 other boys (Briar Creek boys) confessed to assisting with the disposal of RJ's and Mack's belongings, there are NO charges against them. And the "friend" that had RJ's truck while he lay in a ditch dead has no charges against him either. We were told by the authorities that there is no "accessory" law in Alabama. That means that you can aid, abet, and access a murderer, before, during or after the fact in this state and it is OK with the law. No one has bothered to tell us the investigation was closed, I had to find that out on my own just like everything else I gain knowledge of is through my own personal investigation!! they like to keep "humoring" us.
We have also been told by the authorities that these 2 boys who assisted in disposing of RJ and Mack's belongings and the other "friend" who had RJ's truck while he and Mack were dead....they are witnesses for the state, they are going to testify against the "confessed" Paul Wilson. Now why would you need them as witnesses when you have been so hell bent that Paul was the only one who committed this crime, and he confessed? Also why would you need them as witnesses to testify against him, if they weren't involved, then just what do you think they witnessed? Witnesses to what???? We already know they aided, abetted, and accessed, so just what is it that they are actually going to testify against there little buddy that they had no problem helping with??? If you ever get murdered......make damn sure you aren't in Alabama when it happens!!!!!
As you know....RJ and the other boy were brutally murdered on May 24, 2004.
RJ had just turned 18 and the other boy was 17. The investigators tried to call this "A drug deal gone bad" from the beginning. I was told one week after I buried my son (by an investigator with the Sheriff's Dept.) that they had found marajuana in my son's system. Well, they didn't get the toxicology report back until a year later, and it plainly states that NO DRUGS were detected in RJ's system. I GUESS INVESTIGATORS LIKE TO SPECULATE!!!! The truth is....no one cared that our son was missing, and they wanted to stereo-type the whole situation. If they had been girls maybe it would have been taken more seriously. The authorities did not care, and apparently they still don't.....it's not their child. My child is just a case # in a file cabinet in their eyes. But I tell you now, if they had known RJ personally, they would not see it that way. I will continue to speak for my child who can no longer speak for himself.

That's what friends are
for!! To set you up to be
murdered!!
 This is the so called "friend" that introduced RJ and the other boy to the "confessed" murderer (Paul) And this is also the "friend" that was with RJ and and the other boy the day they were murdered. But miraculously he didn’t ride with them down to Briar Creek. You see, he claimed he had on brand new white sneakers and didn’t want to get them dirty. Well, RJ and Mack both had on brand new white sneakers and brand new clothes. RJ worked for his dad and he bought those brand new clothes he had on. He was wearing a Nautica button down shirt, with a white T under that and blue shorts and new white sneakers…..not exactly what young men wear when they are PLANNING on going in the woods.
And RJ never rode with anyone else when he had his own vehicle. He always
took his own vehicle because like all teenagers, he loved to drive, BUT the main reason he always took his own is so that he would not be stranded somewhere waiting for someone else. If he had his own car he didn't have to wait on anyone else. RJ would have never left his truck to ride in that raggedy piece of a jeep of Paul Wilson's!!!!!
The day that we woke up and RJ wasn’t home, we immediately went into panic, because RJ ALWAYS came home by his curfew. At 6:30 am, we rode around the neighborhood to see if we could find his truck because we knew wherever the truck is, there RJ will be , and sure enough we found it in this so called friend’s driveway. RJ’s dad went to the door and told the friend to tell RJ to come home when he woke up. He said “RJ’s not here”. RJ’s dad said “What do you mean he’s not here?, His truck is in your driveway”. The friend said “RJ and Mack left last night with 2 girls in a little green car, but here I have RJ’s keys.” Immediate red flag……RJ NEVER left his truck anywhere to ride with someone else, he would have brought his truck home, it’s just 2 miles up the road, and he would have NEVER left his keys!!!!
So we brought the truck home. Frantically calling RJ’s cell phone every 5 seconds, only getting voice mail. No idea where to look for him. Fearing the worst because this was so out of RJ’s nature. He always called me to let me know where he was at, at all times. He’s never been in trouble a day in his life!!! We knew this so called friend was lying to us.
The so called friend calls us 5 hours later at 11:30 am and tells us he lied to us and that the boys left with some guy named Paul to go to Cottonton Alabama. RJ’s dad asked “ Why Cottonton Alabama? RJ’s never been there, he don’t know anyone there, there is nothing there but woods and swamps.” So called friend said “They rode out there with Paul because Paul had to collect money for a job that he’d done.” Now keep in mind that all this is completely fabricated. So RJ’s dad said “give me a phone # or address to contact this ‘Paul’ guy.” Now this is just the first of the 5 different stories that we got from this so called friend.
Also, this so called friend that had RJ’s truck and RJ’s truck keys ( we did not know at the time) but he also had Mack’s house keys.
This same “friend” lives with his grandparents because both of his parents are in prison for drugs. They had another dead person’s truck in their yard about a year and a half before this….that’s right, you read it right. Attorney John Britton was found dead in their lake and his truck was in their yard. But the authorities don’t find that strange. What are the chances of having 1 dead person’s truck in your yard, much less the chance of having 2 in a year and half time?
This same “friend” went up to the podium at Mack’s memorial service and said….”MY GRANDFATHER TOLD ME NOT TO SAY ANYTHING TO INCRIMINATE MYSELF, BUT IT WASN’T SUPPOSED TO GO DOWN THIS WAY, IT WASN’T SUPPOSED TO GO DOWN THIS WAY.” Now, once again, keep in mind that the investigators, and the District Attorney, and some deputies were present at RJ’s and Mack’s services, but they don’t seem to think that was a strange remark to make.
RJ and Mack were murdered on Monday, we found them on Thursday after 3 days in the woods of continually searching, in 95 degree heat. This so called friend who claimed that they were his best friends… “his homeboys” NEVER CAME TO HELP US SEARCH!!!! But he was such a good friend.
So called "friend" rode in the car with Mack's mother down to Cottonton on the 2nd night of our search. He was supposedly showing Mack's mom how to get to Briar Creek. They were there a total of about 10 - 15 minutes and then they left......neither of them had any intentions of helping us search. I still don't know their purpose for coming down there for 10 minutes!!!! We had already been there since the day before, and now on the 2nd day into our search he shows up around midnight for 10 minutes then they leave.....it was obvious he wasn't there to help us search. He was such a good friend, but he never NOT ONE TIME SEARCHED FOR HIS FRIENDS!!!
We didn’t know it at the time but this is the same friend that called someone on Monday night and told them that his 2 homeboys were dead in the woods…….no one knew they were dead yet. We didn’t even know they were missing until the next morning, when we woke up and they weren’t home……but the “friend” already knew it.
This is the same friend that has taunted me and my other son since the murder. He has harassed me in the convenience store on May 5, 2005 and told his grandmother that I threatened to kill him in the store. We had to go to court back in July of 2005 about this ordeal and the judge found me “not guilty” and ordered all of us to stay away from each other. Then on November 1, 2005.…I was assaulted by him and his grandfather in the store. The grandfather hit me and he grabbed my 15 year old son. This man is 6’3” tall and weighs 275 pounds and he is not fat. And while he grabbed my 15 year old son, his 6’3” grandson (the “friend”) grabbed me to hold me back.

RJ'S AND MACK'S BELONGINGS
Now, when Mack and RJ were found, some of their personal items were missing. RJ’s cell phone and wallet was missing and $11.00 of the $16.00 he had was gone. Also Mack's wallet (he had no money in it) and all of Mack’s jewelry . (RJ didn’t wear jewelry or they would have gotten it too).
THE FRIENDS WHO HELPED DISPOSE OF RJ'S AND MACK'S BELONGINGS
There are 2 boys (brothers) Adam & Julian Gee who live in Briar Creek, (approximately 200 - 300 yards from where the bodies were found) that are good friends with Paul and they have already admitted to riding with Paul and throwing RJ’s cell phone and wallet out the window. The Sheriff’s Dept. claims they found RJ’s wallet on the side of the road (I have yet to see it). They wouldn’t go and search for his phone, said the kudzu was too thick and found every excuse in the book to not go and look for it. We offered to go and search for RJ’s cell phone and we were told “No you can’t go and look for it because it is evidence.” Several weeks went by and they still didn’t search for the cell phone, so after we kept on to them about it they finally they finally agreed to let us go and search for it. So we went down with another search party to look for the phone…..it was never found. The so called “friend” made the comment to a certain person….”There is NO WAY they will ever find RJ’s cell phone.”
ADDED THURSDAY ~ FEBRUARY 23, 2006
At the preliminary hearing 2 months after the murders, the LEAD investigator claimed on the witness stand that they did go and search for RJ's phone. He claimed they found a cell phone, but it was not RJ's. How would they know that? It was never shown to us to identify (like none of his other belongings were never shown to us). I wonder if they really did find a phone and if they did ....WHO does it belong to? Maybe that person is dead too. When my husband asked who the phone belonged to, the investigator told my husband...."It don't matter, it's not RJ's". I find it strange that they found a cell phone in the area where my son's was supposedly thrown out, but we found out later it wasn't, and we were never asked to identify it and they're not trying to find out who it belonged to.
The younger of the brothers (Julian Gee) did not show up for work the next morning after the murder. He and another boy named Eddie did not show up for work that day!!!!

MYSTERIOUS
PHONE CALLS
Since we are on the subject of the cell phone, we looked at RJ’s call record when it came in and there were 2 mysterious calls made to a cell phone from RJ’s phone around the time of the murder. We gave this phone # to the authorities, but they would not investigate it, so we did, and found out who the phone belonged to. RJ or Mack did not know this person, but the so called friend did. We gave the name of this person to the authorities and once again they did nothing. We begged them to subpoena RJ’s phone records and they never would. But they did subpoena the so called friend’s call that he claimed he made, to clear his name. Over a year later we found out that the mysterious # that was called out from RJ's phone was the best friend of the so called "friend's" father.

Also, someone was using RJ's cell phone the next day AFTER the murder. It took me 11 months to find that out, from the cell phone company. So obviously his phone wasn't thrown out like the Briar Creek boys said.
And obviously the authorities must have known that. That is why they didn't want to go and look for the phone!!!
We found out on April 7, 2005 that RJ's phone was being used the day after he was murdered. We immediately brought this to the DA's attention, and asked them if they would subpoena the records now. He said he would get the records (that we gave them in the beginning) from his investigator and start the subpoena.
My husband called them on Tuesday~April 19, 2005 to inquire if they had sent off the subpoena yet (we had given them everything they needed to do this in the beginning, even the phone & fax # to the subpoena compliance center). My husband was told they got everything together and sent it off today.
On May 2, 2005 my husband asked them about the subpoena and they told him that yes it was being taken care of.
We called every week to inquire about this subpoena, and FINALLY on August 3, 2005 (3 months later) we got an answer...the answer was as follows:
"We're not going to get them, because the phone company doesn't have that information, because they don't keep it. You only have 3 months to trace a private #".
WOW!!! IT TOOK 3 MONTHS FOR THE PHONE COMPANY TO TELL THEM THEY DON'T HAVE THE RECORDS WE NEED!?!?!?
They sure are wanting to keep all these mysterious phone calls a big secret. But I am finding out more and more on my own, and will continue to find out. There MUST be some reason why the authorities REFUSE to subpoena the phone records that we have inquired about on SEVERAL occasions!!! Along with the fact that the "confessed" called their Lieutenant's home # the night before!!! And by the way....that's not being investigated either!

Not only would they not subpoena RJ's cell phone records....they sure hopped to subpoena the phone records for the "friend" about the call that he claimed he made while he STAYED BEHIND and didn't go along with them to their final destination. Yeah, they did that for him, but won't subpoena ANY phone records for us!!!! Won't even subpoena ANY of the "friends" phone records from his
home or cell phone, or any of the "confessed" phone records!!! (Maybe because the "confessed" called their Lieutenant's home phone the night before we found our son) see below....(More mysterious phone calls)

More mysterious
phone calls
Once again, since we are on the subject of phone calls….the confessed murderer, Paul Wilson came to Cottonton to “help” with the search on Wednesday, May 26th of 2004. He was with us approx. 4 - 5 hours passing out flyers, and such and we knew his story wasn’t adding up and asked him several questions because we knew he had a missing gun and our boys were missing. He kept telling us all these stories about how they rode down there in his jeep (this is a raggedy piece of junk) and they ran out of gas and he walked to the Adam and Julian Gee’s house (the 2 brothers that live in Briar Creek very close to where the bodies were found & threw RJ's cell phone & wallet out the window while riding with Paul) to get some gas money, but when he walked back to the jeep that RJ and Mack were getting in a little green car (same car the “friend” said they left in from his house) with two girls in it. He claimed RJ and Mack gave him RJ’s truck key and Mack’s house key and they left with the girls. He claimed he just met them 3 weeks ago, yeah, I’m really sure they gave him their keys….they didn’t even know the idiot. But all of this is fabricated, we found out later.
So later that night he (Paul) wanted to go home and asked my husband to take him home and my husband did, while we all waited in the woods for them to get back. I would not leave from there until I found my son…..I could feel him, I knew he was there somewhere.
So while my husband and my other son took Paul home, he wanted to use my husband’s cell phone. When the phone bill came in, we looked at it to see who he called. Well……he called the home # to the Lieutenant of the Russell County Sheriff’s Dept. When we inquired about this, once again we were “humored”. And still nothing is being done about this phone call.

The D.A. supposedly questioned the Lieutenant about the phone call and the Lt. stated that he didn't know Paul and didn't know why Paul would call him.
Now you tell me.....what are the chances that Paul dialed a wrong # and that wrong # just HAPPENED TO BE the Lieutenant's home #? And the duration of that call was 7 minutes!!!!
There is more to this "coincidence".......I will be adding later on. Can't reveal too much of MY investigation at this time. But I do have proof of this phone call!!!

WHAT ARE SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENTS
REALLY FOR ANYWAY?
The first day that RJ was missing, (Tuesday-May 25th, 2004) we reported him missing in our county (Lee County).The deputy that came out and took the report didn’t take us seriously. Even though we explained the situation, and the fact that RJ was very obedient and had never been in trouble and never stayed gone and always home by curfew and always called. He continued to brush us off, saying the boys had probably gone for a ride with some girls down to the beach in Panama City Florida. We kept telling him that RJ wouldn’t do that and then he said “Well, he IS 18, and we can’t make him come home if he doesn’t want to”. I finally said “Don’t you understand? You have 2 missing boys and a missing gun, something terrible has happened. RJ is injured terribly or dead, that is the only thing that would keep him from contacting his family”. We asked him if he would go and question this Paul guy and he said “ I may go by there later, but if I get a call on the way, I’m going to the call”. We asked him if we could go and question Paul and he said “No”. Then later that night when we reported it to Russell County, we found out that the Lee County Deputy didn’t even turn in the missing person report like he was supposed to.
The Russell County Deputy called it into the Russell County Sheriff’s Dept. and checked with Lee County and also called the Lt. not once, but two times (the same one mentioned above that Paul called his home #) but 2 months later at the preliminary hearing the investigator claimed that the Russell County Sheriff’s Dept. wasn’t aware they had 2 missing boys in their county. How could they NOT know when I have the incident report that plainly shows they were notified, even the Lt. was called twice that night about it while we were standing there and it was turned in that night as well, so how could they NOT know about it?
RJ and Mack supposedly left from the trailer of Paul’s girlfriend Christina Richardson. She and her mother Penny Richardson were living with a man named David Houck. Christina and Penny’s stories don’t match any of the 5 versions that the “friend” told us. As for David Houck….well, he was never questioned by the authorities, they said he had nothing to offer. He was one of the last people to see the boys alive, so I believe he has plenty to offer and especially another “version” of the story of how they all left. Of course we all questioned him ourselves, and of course his story doesn’t match Christina’s, Penny’s or the “friends” story. It just seems quite strange how everyone is covering for the “friend”. But they all did make one thing clear….they all owed money to the “friend” for drugs. (crack cocaine).
The Search that WE conducted
with NO HELP from the authorities.

During our first 2 days of searching, we were continuously calling on the Sheriff’s Dept. for help. They would NOT send anyone down there in those God-forsaken woods full of inbreeds to help us. So finally after 2 days of begging, my husband called them the last time on Thursday morning (May 27, 2004) at approx. 3:00 a.m. He told the Sheriff’s Dept. that we had been asking them for help since Tuesday and they have done nothing at all. He also told them “Y’all won’t come help us….so come daybreak we are going on everybody’s property and in everybody’s house, if they are home that’s fine, if they are not, they can fix their doors when they get home. Someone down here has my son or knows where he is and I’ve waited and begged for your help long enough, and we have guns and I will do whatever I have to do to find my son, so at daybreak that is what we are going to do .”
He was told not to trespass on anyone’s property. He told them he didn’t care about trespassing laws or charges, only about finding his son and if they had helped like we had begged then they wouldn’t have to worry about trespassing.
At daybreak, 2 deputies show up in a little response unit van at the Kite’s store where we were at. We were buying some snacks and using the bathroom as the store had just opened. It was around 7:00 am when they showed up. It was already extremely hot at this time. They made mention that we didn’t need to “trespass on anyone’s property” but they didn’t make any mention of our missing son and his missing friend. We were about to go and resume our search when they arrived, but they continued to hold us up. They wanted to see everyone’s ID and they would get 2 at the time and go into their air-condition van with a window unit in the side of it, taking their sweet time supposedly copying our information down from our ID’s. This did not contribute to finding my missing child so finally after about 30 minutes of their sitting in there A/C van I finally asked them “Why do you need our ID information? You are wasting critical time, I really need to get back in the woods and find my child.” I was told……”We have to copy down everything on your ID’s so if 12 of you go into the woods and only 11 come out then we know who to look for.” My reply to that was “We are LOOKING for my missing son and his missing friend…AND we have been searching for 2 days and nights now and we haven’t lost anyone yet!! Can you please just let us go back and resume our search?!?!?!?” I was told to wait until they got through.
So when they FINALLY got through going through their “standard operating procedures” we all headed down to Briar Creek to resume search. At this time these same 2 deputies were standing there telling us how to conduct our search. Of course I didn’t understand why...we had been conducting a damn good search for 2 days and nights WITHOUT THEIR ADVICE OR HELP!!!! And now they want to tell us how to do it!!
At this time while they are “standing around” giving us INSTRUCTIONS on how to conduct a search my husband then asked them “Are y’all going to get us some help down here?" One of the 2 deputies replied “No. We’re not going in the woods. If you bring us back some evidence, then we will call in a search party.”
WE ALREADY HAD THE SEARCH PARTY!!!!

LET'S JUST BLAME IT ALL

The “friend” tries to turn everything around on RJ and Mack of course because they are not here to speak for themselves. But none of these people ever said they owed money to RJ for drugs. And if RJ was the drug dealer like the “friend” and his grandfather try to claim…..then why is it that RJ only had $16.00? Drug dealers carry more money than that….just ask the “friend” who has already confessed to being a drug dealer and always has a pocket full of cash. Further more if RJ was a drug dealer he would not have been working his butt off with his daddy and cutting grass at home for extra money and doing his chores around the house for allowance. RJ WAS NO DRUG DEALER. And further more….once again, there were NO DRUGS in RJ’s and Mack’s systems. RJ WAS A VERY TALENTED AND GIFTED MUSICIAN....HE WAS NOT ABOUT TO THROW ALL HIS HOPES AND DREAMS OUT THE WINDOW TO MAKE A STUPID DRUG DEAL. HE MADE HIS MONEY WORKING A "REAL JOB" WITH HIS DAD AND THROUGH HIS MUSIC!!!!!!!! ANYONE WHO KNEW HIM WILL AGREE!!!

A certain investigator made the comment that I wanted to think my son was perfect. No one is perfect. But my son wasn’t a drug dealer. Anyone who was friends with RJ, would you please feel free to add to the tribute page and just enlighten those people who did not know him as to what kind of person he was? I would greatly appreciate it. Any tributes you leave, I will gladly add to this page. My son is not here to defend himself. I am his voice now, and I will continue to speak for him until he comes back from the dead to defend himself, and that’s not happening any time soon!!!!!
